I saw the name Joe Alves and I snapped to attention. I worked on a film that Mr. Alves designed, Sinbad: Beyond the Veil of Mists, as one of the storyboard artists. Mr. Alves was one of the persons I'd looked up to as a youngster, enamored of films. He was a very friendly and kind. One of my memories of him was a conversation, not about films he'd worked on, although I was always busting to ask him about those, but about how Tuesdays or Wednesdays was the best day of the week to take a family to Disneyland. Funny the things one remembers. He probably wouldn't remember me at all but I remember him as one of the nice guys in the industry. I just discovered your blog and am enjoying it.
